What internet access is needed by Java? I am interested in installing Sweet Home 3D on my Win7 x32 PC, which has the latest Java installed. I disable the Java plugins in Firefox and block internet access by Java with a firewall because of Java security vulnerabilities. See http://krebsonsecurity.com/2012/03/new-java-attack-rolled-into-exploit-packs/ If I understand correctly, I can use the offline installer, which is labeled "Download Windows installer" on the Download page, to minimize internet access by Java. Is this correct? What sites are accessed on the internet during installation? Since I already have the latest Java installed, which site connection attempts can I block and still have installation success? I assume that I can download 3D models with Firefox and import them into Sweet Home 3D locally. If so, does Java need internet access after Sweet Home 3D installation? Thanks in advance for your help. |
