You should define the shared location with com.eteks.sweethome3d.applicationFolders system property. Please read my last comments in this request for more details.
This feature will let you share easily SH3F files so I guess you'll probably want to use Furniture Library Editor too if you want to share more furniture than the ones proposed at SourceForge.
