Re: Closing walls above door openings hansmex, I see I have been doing door openings the wrong way. The floor plan that I scanned into the 2D View pane showed interruptions in walls for the doors, so I made the walls with those openings in place. When I dragged and dropped a door frame into one of those openings, the walls snapped right around it and then I dragged and dropped a door into the frame. That all worked very well but it left an opening in the wall above the door. I put the program back into Wall mode and was able to pull the walls together over the door so it looked just right. Because this gave the desired result, I assumed it was the right way to do it. But, from what you say, I guess I should have made my walls without door openings and then dragged and dropped a door into a wall and it would have created an opening without the empty space above the door. I did read the User's Guide and the Help pages but I didn't catch on that doors were covered under 'importing furniture'and missed that procedure. The instructions I read didn't seem to conflict with what I did. I will now redo the doorless openings between rooms to make solid walls and then find an 'invisible box' to drag and drop on the walls. If it is adjustable to make openings in the walls of the right size and that don't extend to the full heights of the walls I'll have what I am trying to accomplish. Thanks. Harold |
