Re: Some Rendering Questions @smokeycoles Since you are asking about transparent sky and ground, I assume your intentions are to replace the sky and the ground on a photo rendered in Q4 quality. Here's what I do: After having rendered a high quality photo, the easy way to create an alfa channel in SH3D, is to use Modify 3D view and chose a bright blue or green solid (not a color, but a jpg or png) as texture for ground and sky, and then create a photo in Q1. In the editor (Photoshop, Gimp or whatever), I select the background and sky colour, invert the selection and delete the rest – and then I have a perfect mask for sky and ground. Don't feel tempted to take a short-cut and use this technique for the HQ-rendered image; you will get reflections that are next to impossible to handle in the post production. Remember to store your camera position ( point of view) prior to rendering. That's the best way to be 100% certain that your mask will fit. Cec. |
