Re: Plans for redecoration
Puybaret,

I understand what you mean about the stairs. It is probably a mixture of optical distortion and an unfortunate unplanned resizing that has caused the stairs to appear with different step sizes. In reality, all steps are the same.
I'm actually a bit proud of the construction. There were those who told me the stairs would not hold for very long, but after 14 years, they are still tip-top.
Here is a picture ( a real photo), also showing why I need to redecorate and clean up the lounge.

By the way, it's not a problem to include Trimble 3D Warehouse stuff in the renderings you create, it's just that you shouldn't distribute the sh3d file that contains them because it would become some kind of redistribution of the original 3D models, something that Trimble doesn't allow. Hope you'll understand the difference!

Yes, I understand the difference.
So that means that one can extract a 3D model from a file created with the HTML5-creator?

A thing to keep in mind is that models you can find in the Trimble Warehouse do not necessarily belong to neither Trimble nor the uploader. They might in fact be stolen property. If you search for something on Trimble, you will frequently come across identical models that are uploaded by different persons, all appearing to be the rightful owner and creator.
Take this chair , that obviously belongs to Mr. Miller, and compare it with this chair that is published on the Trimble Warehouse. There's no difference. It is the same model. This is only one example.
Numerous object in the Trimble Warehouse are just stolen copies of 3D-models that are available for download on other websites. How can Trimble tell wether you downloaded the stolen model distributed by Trimble, or downloaded the legal original?

Trimble encourages manufacturers to view and distribute their 3D models in 3DWarehouse. The most obvious reason for a manufacturer to produce and distribute 3D models of their products, must be that architects, designers, interior decorators, etc. shall be able to use them; to modify and adapt these models and use them as they see fit.
Redistribution of these models will clearly be in the interest of the manufacturers.

I have linked here to the HTML5-model ( as a test)
The rack-mount rail I have downloaded from Trimble, which is shown in the opening picture, is most probably stolen from this site. I will of course replace them if Trimble asks me to. wink
