smile   Guides to Follow when building from nothing?
In general are there specific guides to follow when it comes to home design?
For example, is there a "right" size to make a room to minimize material waste and make it better for the builder?
Like plywood and sheetrock is usually 4 x 8 so should rooms be divisible by 4 in general?
Is there a "best" size and layout for a kids bedroom?
Are certain rooms better square than rectangular?

Im just looking for some guides to read and apply to a new home we are building for our family.
Thanks for any and all suggestions!
