Re: Windows 7 vs Windows 10?? Seriously: unless you've got some specialised software that is only available for Windows and has no suitable Open Source alternative, go for Linux. For starters, you'll have a lot more space on your hard drive for more cool programs and more data. Then there's all the other advantages Linux has over Windows - better security, better file system, no forced updates, better stability etc etc etc. Microsoft wants you to pay them to take control of your machine (this is the same company that said "If the bad guy can convince you to install his software on your machine, it's not your machine any more" in their 10 security tips). And if you want to have any freedom at all, you have to pay more for the versions that allow you to have that freedom (rather than the "S mode" versions).
