Re: Recreating a 100 year old house The house looks like it has a basement that is partly above ground. I'm not sure what the standard way of achieving that is, but in the past I've used "Miscellaneous" boxes (and wedges) to make large slabs to represent the ground-level, that way the partly above/below ground story can be modeled as a normal storey. Check the Tips and Tricks. The first in the list is about how to add a basement.The advantage over using boxes and triangles is that you can design the interior too, even if that's only utilities like pipes (sewer, water, gas). Try using the 'Generate 3D Shape' tool on the tools menu to create exact sized wedges etc. I often use it for window frames with 45° cut corners. That way you can control the texture direction.
