I don't entirely agree. For a large part it depends on the size and complexity of your projects. With size I mean long walls, large area, much complex furniture, etc.
I mainly work with (very) large projects, with long walls and many large custom made furniture objects. Because of this I can clearly see where the refreshing of the 3Dview is a bottle neck. I sometimes have to wait minutes before the stack of 3D repaints is finished and I can continue. Because of the inefficient handling of the 3Dview I decided on a powerful graphics card that normally would be over the top for Sweethome3D. When it arrives I hope to have a much more responsive Sweethome3D.

So it depends on what you do with Sweethome3D. A regular user doesn't need a high end card but for people that work with projects the size I do it definitely makes a difference.
