lateral matching when dropping objects on top of others I highly appreciate the feature, that furniture can have level(s) (dropOnTopElevation, shelfElevations, shelfBoxes) for dropping other objects. The placing is quite intuitive. However, when I try to drop an object so that it protrudes significantly beyond the target, the auto/magnetic elevating does not happen. A workaround is to first place it inside, then move it to destination. But it does not work where the dropped object is wider than the target. Proposal: Require a smaller overlap of dropped object and target. E.g., already when the bbox centre of the dropped object laterally hits the the target. This would still resemble reality. Whether it would make sense to make the overlap requirement configurable is debatable. Pro: more flexibility, option for keeping current behaviour; Con: more complexity, harder to find, development effort. ---------------------------------------- Cheers - Joe // |
