Re: OBJ to SKP File You are free to upload to both sites, or even others if you want. There is no exclusivity. The Sweet Home 3D free models site is a sourceforge site. You can upload almost anything you want, like zipfiles, obj/mtl model files, sh3f/sh3t libraries, sh3d project files, and images (although they don't like hot-linking images). The only limit (I think) is size. If I remember correctly there was a thread where it was mentioned that a plugin or project was too big and couldn't be uploaded. That shouldn't be a problem for furniture models. For furniture models: zip the obj file, mtl file, and texture images (if any) into a single zip file per model. Sweet Home 3D can import the zip without first unzipping it. For sh3d project files: use "Save and compress" from the file menu to save the project as a much smaller file before upload. For images: make sure they aren't too big. If necessary scale them down with something like GIMP. Sourceforge officially doesn't allow hot-linking to images (show the image on the forum by using a url to the image on sourceforge) but so far I haven't found that they enforce the rule. I forgot to add this: You should choose and add a license for your models. If you don't know what license to add you can use this creativecommons webpage to help you make a choice. That site also explains the rest about licenses. ---------------------------------------- Dodecagon.nl 1300+ 3D models, manuals, and projects |
