Re: How to import Solidworks models ? I don't know SolidWorks but usually a material has a name, otherwise you have nothing to refer to. I'm sure you have to give a name to each material in SW or it will generate a unique name for each material. Maybe you changed materials or material names but didn't assign them to a part of the model. If you don't link a material(name) to a model part it will not show in the export. When you export from SW it should generate two files: an .obj file and a .mtl file. The mtl file is the file in which materials are described. At the top of the .obj file there should be a line "mtllib <filename>.mtl" that refers to the .mtl file. If there is no .mtl file than there is no reference to materials. Depending on how SW formats the obj export you might be able to manually add materials using a text editor. That only works if SW exports with groups in the obj file (lines starting with "g ") for model parts) or multiple objects ("o " lines). ---------------------------------------- Dodecagon.nl 1300+ 3D models, manuals, and projects |
