Re: Dividing wall thickness and "room vs walls" It depends on the design which is easier: first walls, then the room, or first room and then walls. First tunderstand that walls and rooms are two different object types. A room doesn't have walls by itself, you draw wall around a room or fill a space within walls with a room. If you draw the walls first you can create the room inside by selecting the room function on the toolbar and then double click inside the walls. It will fill the space with a room object. You can also start with a room by selecting the room function and drawing the room point-by-point. When the room is done select the wall function in the toolbar and double click on the room. It will surround the room with walls. Then I tried creating a room using the dedicated tool, but the result's walls have no thickness, and adding a door does not automatically "open" the wall on which I place it. You probably didn't use the walls function to draw walls. A wall should cut a hole if you insert a door or window that is defined as "Door or window". Read the manual about drawing walls and then the section about drawing rooms . ---------------------------------------- Dodecagon.nl 1300+ 3D models, manuals, and projects |
