Transparency on objects strange Hi, I'm new to SH3D so this question may be a silly one. I want to apply an image with transparency to a round object and I get a bizarre effect. I've created a wall with 30x42x1 cm (the proportions of the *png image). Exported it as an *obj Then I import it and apply the texture. I get a strange result, like if the image is distorted. And with the limits appearing. What am I doing wrong? How to solve this, please? What I want is to simulate a sculpture on top of a furniture in a entrance hall. I do not know how to modelate the entire 3d model of the sculpture and for me this slightly round is good enough. Best regards |

Re: Transparency on objects strange Be sure to set the texture on the imported wall side with the material modification dialog. ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: Transparency on objects strange I may have spoken too fast. You should first set the texture on the wall and check if it renders correctly, even if transparency will appear as a black color on the wall. You should also change the thickness of the wall with the smallest value and set a top color on it to be able to make the matching material invisible afterwards. Then export the wall to OBJ format, reimport it and hide the top color material. See attached file if needed. ---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: Transparency on objects strangeMerci bien. I was able to get what I want as you can see on the pictures. But have found something curious (for me). Because the texture is not "centered" I've made a Regular sculpture for the front and an horizontally inverted for the back. With new dimensions - now is a square picture to avoid been cuted on the top. Here goes the wall and the object at the right ***** https://ibb.co/P4H5ZgN I also found this: On the render by default, there is NO line on top of the object. With the YafaRay plug-in the line is there! And if you zoom the picture you will see that the YafaRay blurs the horizon line. ***** https://ibb.co/2dXW3qg The YafaRay produces a blured horizon and keeps the stange line on top of the object. But the image is more sharp. ***** https://ibb.co/hBh1R1r Let me know something about this, please. Anyway your help has solved my problem. Thank you so much. HAppy easter! Best regards |
