3D import on M1 MacBook Air crashes SH3D
Hello!

Every time I try and import an individual furniture object file from the SH3D library, the app crashes on the "correctly oriented..." page.

I have an M1 MacBook Air running the macOS Monterey 12.2 Beta (21D5025f).

Any idea as to what could be causing this?

Cheers,

Aaron

Re: 3D import on M1 MacBook Air crashes SH3D
Hello,

I am having the same problem on an Intel Mac.

System details:
MacOS Monterey v12.1
Processor: 2.3GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
Memory: 32Gb 3733MHz LPDDR4X
Graphics: Intel Iris Plus Graphics 1536 MB

Fresh install, have not used application before. Started at version 6.6a however issue still occurs on version 6.5.2a, which fixed a similar issue last year according to other posts on this forum.

I can't find any logs that seem useful - please let me know if there is any way I can assist in troubleshooting the problem.

Aaron, if you use the Mac App Store version, run it with Rosetta.
Otherwise, use the special version available at
https://www.sweethome3d.com/downloads/SweetHome3D-6.6-macosx-jogl-2.3.2.dmg
which runs with an older version of JOGL.
As this version can't be notarized, you'll have to launch it the first time by clicking on Sweet Home 3D icon while maintaining control key pressed and choosing Open item.

Camerone, try this special version too.

Hi Puybaret,

I have tested this quickly and it appears to be working. Than you very much for the speedy response!

I am also having this issue with 7.0.2 on a Mac Mini M1, can confirm that the 6.6 special version does work on imports. What I ended up doing before was import using the online version and then save and open up the file using the desktop version.
