Sudden problem using SH3D on chromebook Linux - no menu
Hello

My students use SH3D on a chromebook. I installed the Linux-environment and for more than a year, everything worked fine. It had some minor issues, but nothing problematic.

Since a month, SH3D starts but the entire menu is empty and it can't be clicked on. The field with the 3D-rendering is completely back and also empty.
2 months ago, everything worked perfectly.
I tried to install it on a new chromebook, same problem.

Anyone with the same problem?
Is there a workaround?

Thank you

Dieter.

There have been no new release of Sweet Home 3D for months, so it might be an issue in the operating system or in the repository where you downloaded it from. Where did you get it?

Note that except for the Online version, I even didn't think that Sweet Home 3D could work on a chromebook!

Re: Sudden problem using SH3D on chromebook Linux - no menu
Thanks for your fast reply.

I only used:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt install sweethome3d

There's a Linux-option in the chromebooks that you can enable.
It's very basic, but it works.

Unfortunately it's very difficult to find any information online of chromebooks with linux. I'm curious how long it will take before Google abandons the project.

Would it be possible that you try the version available at Download page?

Thanks for the reply's.
I solved it by installing Sweet Home 3D this way:

sudo apt update
sudo apt install flatpak
flatpak install https://dl.flathub.org/repo/appstream/com.sweethome3d.Sweethome3d.flatpakref --user
