Empty Space in imported Model Hi all, I've been playing with blender and managed to model a desk i want to use in a plan. The model is to scale in blender at 160cmx120x73cm I export the model and import it, however it seems to think there is a bunch of empty space in the imported model. As such when i try to set the size in sweet home 3d its not correct as its resizing the empty space. I'm a bit stumped, can anyone help? Example in plan when imported https://imgur.com/5ATWYm6 Link to my blender file, an example exported obj and the mtl file and the screenshot if it helps to work out what im doing wrong. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AtLcMt9-g-IqhLhJam86zY8cDW8g-Q Thanks |

Re: Empty Space in imported Model I'm not sure how, but the leg on the short side of the desk has a width dimension the extends out from the desk making your empty space. Reload your original model and redo the leg. that should solve your problem. Good Luck |

Re: Empty Space in imported Model On object Leg_Right.001_Cube.004_Material.005 You have an exterior point. Delete it! I see this in AOI. ---------------------------------------- A computer program does what you tell it to do, not what you want it to do. Murphy's Law When all else fails, read the instructions. Re: Empty Space in imported Model I'm not sure how, but the leg on the short side of the desk has a width dimension the extends out from the desk making your empty space. Reload your original model and redo the leg. that should solve your problem. Good Luck Thanks, will take a deeper look so see if i can spot it. The left (shorter leg) is a duplicate of the right hand long end leg. Not quite sure what I did. Guessing whatever is wrong doesn't affect that leg because the desk extends beyond the problem area. Might be worth redoing both legs if the right one is borked too. As an initial test i just deleted the short end leg entirely and it resolved the issue. |

Re: Empty Space in imported Model I'm not sure how, but the leg on the short side of the desk has a width dimension the extends out from the desk making your empty space. Reload your original model and redo the leg. that should solve your problem. Good Luck Rebuilt leg and works fine. Very odd. I'm new to blender and I'm fairly sure I've hit the odd inadvertent key combo which may have modified something. Either way fixed now many thanks |

Re: Empty Space in imported Model I am not a frequent user of blender but I suspect a problem when export object (analyze more the export options). The previous problem (an exterior point) I suspect to be something from blender scene. ---------------------------------------- A computer program does what you tell it to do, not what you want it to do.
