Re: Forum email notifications not working Me too. I'm forced to periodically check the "recent threads" page, which is quite annoying. |

Re: Forum email notifications not working My way: 1. Login and verify to have a valid mail address in your profile. 2. Case one: - When write something on thread which aren't in your watch list on Option row check "Watch this Thread". - If you already wave the tread on watch list this check box don't appear. Case two: - You want only to receive mail notifications from some threads even you don't post on them: -- Login, go to desired thread and on the upper right corner you will se one of this messages: ---You are NOT watching this thread and a button Watch or ---You are watching this thread 3. To make some order in your watch: - Login - On second row you will have few (4) options. Chose My Watch. Now you can delete some which are not interesting for you. For remains watch you will receive notifications on mail when appear new posts. At least, for me, on gmail it works. On other mail servers maybe you have to verify also on spam. ---------------------------------------- A computer program does what you tell it to do, not what you want it to do. Re: Forum email notifications not working I think there could be an issue with the webmaster@ email being used for thread emails. This is probably instantly seen as spam by many email servers. The other one is if php mail( ) function is being used instead of a real email via SMTP etc.. I am not using gmail. My servers use cPanel. |

Re: Forum email notifications not working I’m pretty sure that mails are sent, but if your mail server is too restrictive, notifications may be treated as spams or ignored. It’s up to you to configure your mail server or use another server. ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: Forum email notifications not working My email provider is Microsoft, so I have no chance to tune the server filters. The notifications don't go to the spam folder, I can't receive them at all. I can live without them, however we must admit this problem exists. I'm going to change the email address configured in my profile to another one from Google to check if it works. |

Re: Forum email notifications not working Some bad news. I changed my email address to a gmail one but I'm still not receiving notifications. I have received an email to confirm the address change, so there is no problem with the mail server. I also checked my previous email and I've found the confirmation message received when I created my account, so there is no problem with MS servers too. I suspect the system breaked some years ago, and only works for users registered before this time. Or it could have reached a maximum output rate and mails are sent only to the first N users. |

Re: Forum email notifications not working i am using a cPanel based server and I have done 2 things: 1) checked my delivery logs and no email arrives at my server (or is not shown in log) 2) I had my server company to also check their logs to see they had blocked upstream and they say they do not block and nor could they find any [email protected] email. This means my server is not deleting the emails because it sees them as spam, but rather never gets them. My watches are set to 'Server Default' in my profile @Puybaret If you get chance, check for an email sent for this forum post to me and see if an email is sent and if you get a fail message etc... Is it the system default setting that is an issue? Daniels118 could be on to something as I also got the sign up email etc.. |
