how to add column to a house The house that I'm trying to design has a column that's thicker than the wall, so if the wall is 26cm thick, at each corner of the house there's a column thicker than the wall, how can I design it? ---------------------------------------- Thanks for your comment/suggestion Michael |

Re: how to add column to a house For a square column you can draw a square with walls in the size of the column and move it to the corner. Then lengthen/shorten the connecting walls so they touch the column. For a round column just use a resized cylinder. ---------------------------------------- Dodecagon.nl 1300+ 3D models, manuals, and projects |

Thanks so much for this tip, it's a square one.

Everything was fine until I tried to connect the walls, because they have different thickness, when connected (they are connected using the middle of the wall), so the way SH3D does is I'll have excess thickness on both sides, is there a way to have it only to one side? (meaning one side of the wall is leveled/smooth, and the other side has an indentation of a thicker wall? I've attached an example to illustrate what I'm trying to express in words. https://flic.kr/p/2otWfDx ---------------------------------------- Thanks for your comment/suggestion Michael |

Joined walls are only useful for corners to display the textures without showing the end side of a wall and drag connected parts when you move one part of a wall. Touching the corner column already hides the end of the touching wall so there's no problem when you don't join them.---------------------------------------- Dodecagon.nl 1300+ 3D models, manuals, and projects |
