Beginner question : how to master exact lenght of walls Hi, i try to draw my first walls. I have 70cm wirdth walls, length 2006cm on one side and 1248cm on the other. I draw the first wazll, 2006cm long, click, and go 90° to draw the other wall, but the drawing of the new wall is centered on the edge of the previous wall soi the length of the previous wakll is now 2006+35cm. How can we draw the second wall without changing the lenght of the first one ? |

Re: Beginner question : how to master exact lenght of walls Walls are always measured at their middle. So either you add 35cm to take account of this, or you don't join the walls. ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: Beginner question : how to master exact lenght of walls Hi, i come back to this issue as i was not able to draw my walls with your advice. So i abandonned... Now i try again for another drawing , just one room surrounded by walls of different size, one is 70cm wide, another 20cm wide, another 10cm wide etc... If i want to draw a room whose size is 5mx4m surrounded by these different walls, if need to do computations for each wall reaching each walls to take in account the size and the middkle point ! Why we can't draw the room 4x5, and then the walls but aligned on the edge of the room and not aligned with their middle on the edge of the room ? Why it can't be so simple ? |

Re: Beginner question : how to master exact lenght of walls Maybe this could help. ---------------------------------------- A computer program does what you tell it to do, not what you want it to do. Re: Beginner question : how to master exact lenght of walls Thanks, yes it helps, but many manipulations anyway... If we could just say that walls are surrounding the room, it would be so easier... instead of being drawned by their middle... But thanks, it works |
