Automatic dimensions addition Hello, How to add automatically the internal dimensions of all the rooms? |

Re: Automatic dimensions addition are you trying to get dimensions for rooms displayed? if you create a "room" then you can double click to get dimensions. I am unaware of a list of rooms similar to the list of furniture and objects that would list room dimensions. that would be ideal . . . buehler . . . ? |

Re: Automatic dimensions addition @archibaldtuttle I'm also interested on this. If you find how to make a list with Rooms Information, eventually sorted by levels and names, let us know. ---------------------------------------- A computer program does what you tell it to do, not what you want it to do. Re: Automatic dimensions addition Besides the Rooms Information plugin (by Dorin) there is also a "List rooms plugin". Not sure what it does but it might be worth checking. ---------------------------------------- Dodecagon.nl 1300+ 3D models, manuals, and projects |

Re: Automatic dimensions addition if you create a "room" then you can double click to get dimensions. I cannot find dimensions by double clicking, I just see the option to get the surface |

Re: Automatic dimensions addition @mulanee my bad. it never even occurred to me that the dimensions weren't listed and addressable in the dialogue box as they are for created walls, albeit the whole "room" concept is a little alien to me compared to other CAD experience. ironically, you can get the room to display square footage, but not dimensions. given that the room could be any kind of polygon, in theory, I guess simple dimensioning doesn't apply universally. albeit you'd think that rectangular might be some kind of default measure and or that the two or several greatest dimensions could be listed. @keet if i'm feeling brave i'll try a plug in sometime. haven't done that before. if someone has the facility to write one that colors walls in 2D, that would be the handiest problem solver for me at the moment. not sure how addressable that attribute is. or maybe even colors that correspond to a pattern choice so you're not really creating a new function. It is a little work although the snap too is reasonably useful with the dimensions and you could create another level for dimensions and make it visible when you need it? |

Re: Automatic dimensions addition Trying out plugins is very easy if you first install the plugins manager: https://sourceforge.net/p/sweethome3d/plug-in.../PluginManager-1.5.3.sh3p Once that is installed you can just select a plugin you want to add, update, or remove. You can read more about it here: http://daniels118.altervista.org/sh3d/pluginmanager/ There is no plugin to color walls in the 2Dview but there are a lot of other useful plugins. You should at a minimum install the advanced edit plugin and you will probably want the Roof and Staircase generator plugins too. The Pan3DView plugin gives you a better 3Dview experience. ---------------------------------------- Dodecagon.nl 1300+ 3D models, manuals, and projects |
