Is there a way to remove a curve that indicates which way the door opens? thank you

Yes, the easier method is to export the door and import it as a new door.

Definitely the easiest and quickest way.

For a beginner here's why:
The sashes (the curves that indicate which way a door or window opens) are defined in a Furniture Library as additional properties for a model. By exporting and importing you get the same door but without the additional properties from the Furniture library.

Note that if more extra properties were defined for the door you will loose those too. For example a distance indication from the wall to extend a border outside the wall, a custom cutout shape, or the default elevation.
