deleting furniture libraryI'd like to say first that I absolutely adore this program. the only thing that would make it better would be a plug-in for multiple levels in a house. So far, I have only had one problem. I imported a furniture library from this site, unfortunately, i like my items organize. "Computer Workstation" comes up with "computer" search, but not "desk" search. I know that importing each item separately allows me to alter the name to my liking, which is awesome, except that i can't delete the furniture library from Sweet Home. I have uninstalled the program, deleted the furniture library folder from my computer, restarted the computer, and re-installed sweet home 3D, and even updated it even though i already have the most recent version. nothing is working. I have searched the forums, FAQs, User's Guides, Developer's Guides, and the rest of this site, for about an hour now. Can anybody help me out on this? I know it seems pretty minor, but it's hard to work with it when half of my desks are in the living room section, half are in the office section, and several aren't even labeled as desks. it's driving me nuts. Help please? |

Re: deleting furniture library Sol: This is not a complete solution. - Export your model using 3D View --> export to OBJ format... - Give it any name - Import the model using Furniture --> Import furniture - Give the model the desired name and put it in the desired (new) map; if the map doesn't exist, you can create it by typing the new map name over an existing name This way you can reorganize the names and maps of existing models. There is a way to prevent SH3D from importing the standard libraries, by deleting the SH3D libraries, but depends on your operating system where these files are. Re: deleting furniture library That would allow for doubles, which would be better than nothing. My operating system is Vista, if that helps. And I already deleted the SH3D libraries, or at least I deleted them from where I saved them....but it appears that their ghosts are haunting me. :P Thanks for the tip though, I'll settle with that for the moment. |

Re: deleting furniture library The place where SH3F files are saved is described in the section Libraries of additional 3D models in 3D models import page. ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: deleting furniture library yes, I saw that in my original search of this site. It made me so happy, and then so sad. under Windows, this folder is C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\eTeks\Sweet Home 3D\furniture It's not there. There is no "Documents and Settings Folder" There is only one application data folder and it has only one unrelated folder, which is empty. There is no folder labeled "eTeks" nor any folder labeled "Sweet home 3D" though there is the folder in my program files labeled "eTeks Sweet Home 3D" and it contains the program and the uninstall.exe. And according to the search program in my computer, there is no file anywhere labeled "furniture." I promise I wouldn't have posted if the answer I need was findable on this site. But it's not. So currently I will stick with the idea Hans gave me. Its not my favorite, but it's working. |

Re: deleting furniture library I have found the amazingness of deletability. I know, not real English, but it works. Note 1: thanks for your help, both of you. Note 2: Vista sucks, and their search system sucks worse. Anyway, Vista is different than windows, you should add to your page. I found it in C:\Users\Sol\AppData\Roaming\eTeks\Sweet Home 3D\furniture but Sol is my computer user name, so that's obviously not everbody's. Anyway, I hope this helps somebody else. Thanks for the input and the effort. Sol |
