memory problem Emmanuel, Today I had a strange problem, most probably stemming from memory management. What happened is, that after importing a new DAE model, and inserting it in my design, every model I tried to insert, was that same last model I imported. In this case, I imported the horse, than tried to insert a sphere or a cylinder, but while dragging that model, it was the horse that became attached to the cursor. When I save the file, close and restart SH3D, the problem is solved. However, the window does not open in its previous size (full screen). I attach the file that has this problem, although I am not sure you can reproduce it. This same problem happened for the first time a few days ago, certainly no more than a week, and it happened again right now while testing v3b21. I don't remember what I was doing when it first happened. Today, I had done quite a bit of rendering for the three test pictures I showed in another post, so it's hard to say whether it's the DAE model, or the repeated rendering that clogged the memory. Re: memory problem Very very strange problem. ![]() Maybe a multithreading issue but I hope not... ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: memory problem Emmanuel, Again the same problem, this time not after lots of rendering, just after a simple drawing to reply to a post. In my opinion this rules out the memory problem, and makes it more probable that the problem lies with the skp or dae file, or its conversion. This time I can describe exactly what I did, maybe it helps to pin down the problem. - I downloaded the SketchUp 7 file of this model. - Using SketchUp 7.1, I opened the model, then exported it with three check boxes checked: (a) Triangulate all faces, (b) Preserve component hierarchies and (c) Export texture maps. - I then imported the model in SH3D and inserted in my model. When I next inserted another model, the same handrail was inserted. Hans ---------------------------------------- Hans new website - under constuction hansdirkse.info |
