Skylight challenge
Hi,

Wondering if anyone had figured out a way to turn a window on its side and place it in the ceiling or any other solution to show a skylight?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

Re: Skylight challenge
Michael,

Several possibilities...

1 - Horizontal
Use Furniture --> Import furniture to add the window of your choice. During import rotate it with the arrows.
You then have to build the surrounding area with blocks, roof parts, etc.

2 - Horizontal
Draw a wall, insert a window. Use the plug-in CopyAsNewFurniture to copy this ensemble. Open a new instance of SH3D, copy-paste the copied model, then use 3D view --> Export to OBJ format to export it. Re-import it and rotate to horizontal during import.

3 - Diagonal
As method 2, but with an extra step. After exporting as an OBJ, use Art of Illusion, Misfit 3D or Blender to rotate your object to the desired angle. Then import as above.

4 - Diagonal
Import a window, and during import rotate it 90 degrees, so that it ends up lying on its side.
Draw two walls at a 90 degree angle. Insert your window. CopyAsNewFurniture, then export as OBJ.
Import the angled walls with window, and during import rotate in such a way that the two walls form a traditional roof.

I might come up with another way.... smile You too, just use your imagination and keep experimenting!!
