Strange ceilings I restarted using SH3D for planing windows. For an idea of these windows I created all walls and created rooms via double click. In two rooms the ceilings are fine but in two others they are very strange (see image attached).  Any idea how to fix this? mekkelek |

Re: Strange ceilings Mekkelek, Ceilings and sloped walls do not make a happy marriage. Ceilings do not follow bends in walls. So, if you have walls that are partially straight and partially sloping, you should subdivide your walls to follow the straight and sloping parts of your walls. Re: Strange ceilings As explained in the help: The height of the ceiling of a room is computed at each point of the room, and the height at each of these points is equal to the height of the closest start or end point of a wall. This allows to create the ceiling of a garret when you set different heights at the start and end points of sloping walls. This way of doing is far from perfect, but it works most of the time, except if you use small walls for an other purpose (in that case, prefer to use thin boxes), if you moved room points to a place where the ceiling height is influenced by an other wall, or if the shape of the room gets a little complex (as it seems to be for "L" shaped room at the left). In the later case, you should keep one room for the floor with its Display ceiling check box kept unselected, and create two rooms for its ceiling parts (one for the garret part and one for the other ceiling part of the room) with its Display floor check box kept unselected. Re: Strange ceilings Hi Hans and Puybaret. @Hans, It seem I did not understand what you meant as subdividing my walls did not help at all. I've uploaded the unmodified version and hope I understand what you meant, when I see the modified file. @Puybaret: Your "dirty" solution of multiple rooms (one big for the floor and the area calculation and 2-n rooms for the ceiling ) does work, but I think there must be a different way. Re: Strange ceilings Mekkelek, Follow this link to find your modified file. I did just the two sloping sides of the roofs. The middle part should be split up in several parts so that you can have different flooring in every room.
