it is possible to disable support for JMF (losing a few features) and use instead fmj?

I wouldn't mind if fmj uses the same API as JMF as they claim and if theirs libraries doens't make the program grow. I briefly tested fmj by replacing jmf.jar by their jar files in the program classpath but it didn't work. Maybe I should change the video encoding I set.
