Re: Sweet Home 3D 3.4
I have been using 3.4 for some time now on my 64bit Linux machine. When sending a saved file to a 32bit windows machine, that machine is not able to open the file. Is this a known bug?

I can make the windows machine read the saved file if I remove almost every object (just left a few doors in the drawing) so there seem to be related to the number/type of items in the drawing.

Re: Sweet Home 3D 3.4
Jakob,

The probably most likely is caused by the 32 bit machine. Try the solutions offered in the FAQ to see if that can solve your problem.

I have used SH3D successfully under 32bits and 64bits Ubuntu flavours.

Re: Sweet Home 3D 3.4
Thanks, I have read the FAQ, it does not really seem to be a memory problem. Any other ideas, should I post the file here?

Re: Issue while transferring a .sh3d file
As SH3D files are fully compatible across operating systems, this has probably nothing to do with a memory problem or a Linux 64bits vs a a Windows 32 bits box, but it must be a issue related to the fact that the file wasn't transferred/copied correctly.
The minimum check would to compare files size? Can you check they are the same?

Re: Issue while transferring a .sh3d file
Yes, I'm 100% sure they are the same.

I started by sending my orignal file and it could not be imported.
I then created a dummy drawing without any objects (just walls) and it imported find.
Then did I proceed by removing objects from my orginal file and saving as a new file, I repeated this until it imported ok. I had to remove every object except doors so the problem seem to be related to numer/type of objects....

Re: Issue while transferring a .sh3d file
How big is the file?
Could you try to open it with Sweet Home 2D (requires you install Java first)? If it works correctly, that would mean that you have either a problem with the video card driver, or a problem of memory with Sweet Home 3D.
If it fails also with Sweet Home 2D, send me the file. I'll have a look to it.

Re: Issue while transferring a .sh3d file
I will make a try. Or actually I will ask my parents to make a try (their computer is the one with windows)... :-)

I just hope that I can guide them through any Java installation, if it's not installed... ;-)
