Rendering does not use 100% CPU Hi, It may be an odd question (and maybe better suited to Sunflow's forum), but: Does anyone experience low CPU usage during rendering ? When I render, my CPU utilisation is at around 60% (javaw.exe process) I thought it should be almost 100%, since Sunflow creates a thread for each core. I've tested this on two machines: - Core I7 860 (4 cores, 8 threads) - Phenom II 950 (4 cores, 4 threads) I'm wondering whether it's something funny about my machines (or my SH3D scene). Anyone ? |

Re: Rendering does not use 100% CPU What Java version do you use? Could you try with the installer version and not the Java Web Start version, to see if it behaves the same? ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: Rendering does not use 100% CPU Hi Emmanuel, I've noticed it first with Beta 4.0 and JRE7, but before making this post I've downloaded standalone 3.7, and it happens there too. Cheers |

Re: Rendering does not use 100% CPU Would you have any tool that would prevent a program to use all the CPU power? ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: Rendering does not use 100% CPU Hi Emmanuel, I haven't used SH3D for some time recently. Now I've downloaded version 4.1 and voila ! The issue is gone. It now uses 100% of CPU to render on my machine and renders almost twice as fast. Cheers, |
