Testing.... This is my first attempted at figuring out how to import items and export the scene so it rendered correctly externally, basically I made the office walls in sections, ie window, door and lights. I used Sketchup free and Thea Render for the rendered image If any one wants the walls let me know. |

Re: Testing.... It renders ok, I was having some issues with faces flipping on a full render I found if I just added meshes rather than duplicating the sections fixed that problem I need to figure out a better way of doing the lights |

Re: Testing.... The best way I found to add light to a room, without disturbing the general light settings, is to insert a large white or incandescent light, say 100x100 cms, at a height of approx. 100 cms and with a strength of 10-20%. This lights up a large space without causing shadows. Hans ---------------------------------------- Hans new website - under constuction hansdirkse.info |

Re: Testing.... Can you name a mesh as a light source? in the light units I have a simple planes as emitters, actually in the render it has the planes on the outside hidden and the lights inside are a fake emitters to give the glow |

Re: Testing.... The solution I gave is based on SH3D. I'm not familiar with other programs. Hans ---------------------------------------- Hans new website - under constuction hansdirkse.info |

Re: Testing.... Yes I know sorry, what I was trying to say was can we do custom lights in SH3D, I saw a thread about importing lights as 3DS but the links were dead |

Re: Testing.... You cannot import or export light. - If you export only a light bulb, then on importing SH3D will tell you that it doesn't recognize the model. - If you export light bulbs in combination with other models or walls, the model will be imported, but the light is lost. So, if you need light, you will have to specify this manually in an OBJ or MTL file. As far as I know, there is no manual that explains how to do this.
