Java error on saving (or saving as) my file Hi, need your help with following issue. I have Windows XP SP3 and I installed desktop version of SH3D about one week ago. I worked normally until today when I cannot save my work anymore. Error msg is: java.io.FileNotFoundException I unistalled the desktop version and installed Java7 and then SH3D with java webstart but I got the same error. I'm the administrator of Windows and I have avast installed (I tried with avast stopped as well) Any hint would be appreciated. Regards, Luigi |

Re: Java error on saving (or saving as) my file Are you sure you (still) have the rights to write in the folder you chose? Is the file you try to modify write protected or not? Did you try to save your work elsewhere? ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: Java error on saving (or saving as) my file Hi Emmanuel, thank you for your prompt reply. Yes, I have rights to write anywhere, I'm the administrator. The file is not write protected. I tried to save it in another folder but I received same error. I also tried to copy the file in another folder and I renamed it, then I opened it with SH3D but again was unable to save it. [Update] Right now I have created a new stupid file with just one room and I could save it normally but as soon as I added a background image (the one I have for my previous work) I received the same error. The file is a 2,26 MB JPG image, is there any limitation for background files? |

Re: Java error on saving (or saving as) my file There's no limitation for background files. Or if there's some limitations it's definitively not on the file size, but on resolution. Would you use a roaming profile? ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Would you use a roaming profile? I've rebuilt my work from scratch. Now it's working fine. Thank you for your time anyway. |

Re: Java error on saving (or saving as) my file Uninstalling-reinstalling the program won't make it work better, and the message seems to say you have a problem to write in C:\Documents and Settings\admin directory. Quite a strange issue since you're the administrator of the computer ! Even if the error message doesn't suggest it, maybe you have an other issue in your SH3D file. Could you try to open it and save it on an other computer? ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: Java error on saving (or saving as) my file Yes it works in my second PC but it has version 3.6. I installed version 3.6 in my first PC but I then faced the same issue. In my second PC I have also Java 6 while on the first one I have Java 7. Could this be the problem (Java version conflict) ? |

Re: Java error on saving (or saving as) my file I don't think it's bound to the Java version you use. Anyway, if you use Sweet Home 3D from its installer (the one with a setup), the installed Java is ignored, because this installer is bundled with Java (version 6) used privately. Do you have this issue wherever you're trying to save? ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: Java error on saving (or saving as) my file Could you check if the program fails too when run with Java Web Start by clicking on the this link? If this is the case, please enable the Java console and report here the text starting by "Exception in thread" that appears in the console at the moment the bug happens. ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |
