How to copy furnitures from an opened sh3d file to another one? How can one copy furnitures from an opened sh3d file to a special place to another one? When I copy e.g. a table from a sh3d file and paste it into another one the table might be copied to a position anywhere far away from the room. I have no idea how to get the tabel into the room. How could I do it? ---------------------------------------- Actual (none Beta) stable, portable Sweet Home 3D Windows 7 Premium Home Edition & Vista |

Re: How to copy furnitures from an opened sh3d file to another one? As far as I know you cannot paste to a specific location. When you paste the object appears in the same coordinates it was on the source. ---------------------------------------- If a long walk every day were healthy, mailmen would be immortal. ![]() |

Re: How to copy furnitures from an opened sh3d file to another one? Thank you. OK, but how can I get the object, the furnitures to the place I want have it? Just dragging with the pointer is not possible sinsfully because of the long distance. ---------------------------------------- Actual (none Beta) stable, portable Sweet Home 3D Windows 7 Premium Home Edition & Vista |

Re: How to copy furnitures from an opened sh3d file to another one? You can zoom out so distances seems shorter, or you can double click the object to edit its properties and there change the location coordinates. ---------------------------------------- If a long walk every day were healthy, mailmen would be immortal. ![]() |

Re: How to copy furnitures from an opened sh3d file to another one? Yes, I had tried it, but zooming out lets the distance far enough and using the coordinates didn't work, they brought the furnitures somehow to another point far away from the point I wanted have it. ---------------------------------------- Actual (none Beta) stable, portable Sweet Home 3D Windows 7 Premium Home Edition & Vista |

Re: How to copy furnitures from an opened sh3d file to another one? ...using the coordinates didn't work, they brought the furnitures somehow to another point far away from the point I wanted have it. I just tried and the coordinates works fine. Remember that the coordinates shown on the rules are metres and the one entered on the properties dialog are centimetres, so if you look at the rules and see you want to move to 60,40 you should enter 6000,4000 on the dialog. ---------------------------------------- If a long walk every day were healthy, mailmen would be immortal. ![]() |

Re: How to copy furnitures from an opened sh3d file to another one? Ah, I didn't notice that. But I am not able to manage it though now. I would thing just copy the coordinates of a furniture being at the right position and paste it to the furniture to move, but I cannot get it to work. But I remember to have done something like that before and it had worked. I want this furniture - http://i.imgur.com/MpqDcsp.png - to be here: http://i.imgur.com/G2K7g1i.png And what could I do to receive e-mails on answers to my postings? Cannot find the option here. ---------------------------------------- Actual (none Beta) stable, portable Sweet Home 3D Windows 7 Premium Home Edition & Vista |

Re: How to copy furnitures from an opened sh3d file to another one? Just double click the object and write the coordinates of the correct place, which from the second image are approximately -278600,-450900. What's the matter with that? And yes, you can "watch" threads. You're probably hatching this one already, but I think by default you only receive a digest mail at the end of the day. Go to your profile and then to "my watch" and edit this one to be "non-digest". ---------------------------------------- If a long walk every day were healthy, mailmen would be immortal. ![]() |

Re: How to copy furnitures from an opened sh3d file to another one? Thank you. I copy your coordinates into the field, but when leaving it, going to the next one the old coordinates are filled in in the field again. I have any idea, why. It seems to be that numbers with max 5 digits are kapt more than 5 do not. OK, I changed the e-mail option like you say. I have not received any notification for this thread at all. And there is no e-mail in the spam folder from this forum. I will see. ---------------------------------------- Actual (none Beta) stable, portable Sweet Home 3D Windows 7 Premium Home Edition & Vista |

Re: How to copy furnitures from an opened sh3d file to another one? It seems to be that numbers with max 5 digits are kapt more than 5 do not. Oh, I see... it's a bug then. Even if I switch units to metres it doesn't allow to pass -1000. I hope it can be fixed for a next release. OK, I changed the e-mail option like you say. I have not received any notification for this thread at all. And there is no e-mail in the spam folder from this forum. I will see. No idea, then. I hate this mvmForum engine, it's soooooo limited! ![]() ---------------------------------------- If a long walk every day were healthy, mailmen would be immortal. ![]() |

Re: How to copy furnitures from an opened sh3d file to another one? Coordinates values in the text fields are limited from -1000000 cm to 100000 cm, i.e. -1 km to 1 km. What would justify that I increase this interval? (Note that this could cause problems in the 3D view) And about mvmForum, I don't think it's so limited, even if it could be improved. Don't forget that this forum runs on one small server with one moderator, so of course, I can't free all the security locks it provides. By the way, it's the first time someone complains about the notification system (or it's this case the lack of notification). Dirki, did you check your spam folder? ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: How to copy furnitures from an opened sh3d file to another one? What would justify that I increase this interval? Sorry, I do not have any idea. 1 km to 1 km appears to be enough for me, actually it seems to be much too much. Why is it, that the rooms are not located at or near by a value of 0 cm / km, but are at e.g. at - 27.000 cm or somehting like that? I didn't intend to have positions like that on my drawings. Very sorry for that, Emmanuel, I didn't want to complain, it just should be a statement in that context. Of course you will have some very good reasons for using this forum. I received a notification e-mail for your posting. Very strange. Yes, I had checked, no e-mail in the spam folder. ---------------------------------------- Actual (none Beta) stable, portable Sweet Home 3D Windows 7 Premium Home Edition & Vista |

May be it's just for the security locks, but I still miss many options found on another forum engines. Anyway, I would be happy if notification emails could be sent instantly and (and this is the feature I miss the most) if one could simply edit their own messages, so one can correct errors or add something forgot without the need to post a new message. If the ability to edit is missing on the forum then I maintain my opinion about it. If the ability to edit has just been disabled by you as a security measure, then please consider to enable it. ---------------------------------------- If a long walk every day were healthy, mailmen would be immortal. ![]() |

Re: How to copy furnitures from an opened sh3d file to another one? I just added you to a group of users who have the right to edit messages. Well, thanks Emmanuel. Although I still cannot see a security risk on give all the users the ability to edit, or at least all the user with more than a certain number of post, but I may be ignoring something you don't about that, and anyway, in the end, you're the site admin and you decide. ![]() ---------------------------------------- If a long walk every day were healthy, mailmen would be immortal. ![]() |

Re: How to copy furnitures from an opened sh3d file to another one? I don't understand what happen with Your SH3D, but I can't reproduce Your request. I try this: Open sh3d -> insert one furniture (table) -> move them somewhere far from left-up corner; select the furniture -> Ctrl+C; Open a new sh3d file, click somewhere in the new file & Ctrl+V. The furniture have preserved coordinate from original file. ---------------------------------------- A computer program does what you tell it to do, not what you want it to do.
