Web Viewer keyboard not working Hi I have tried to place my project online for my friends to watch. It works using mouse, but the keyboard is not functional at all. Is there a mouse gesture to go to aerial view or can I force the viewer to start in aerial view. Any others having this problem? Could it be a problem with my browser java (using IceTea on OpenSUSE). My drawing is at http://busene.dk/huset/SweetHome3DViewer.html -- Regards Klaus |

Re: Web Viewer keyboard not working The viewer view is the same as the view when you saved the file. So yes, just save your file in aerial view (Ctrl-D) and upload again. ok PS Det var da et nett lite hus - er det reelt eller en drøm? |

Re: Web Viewer keyboard not working It works using mouse, but the keyboard is not functional at all. Did you click in the 3D view first? Doesn't the space bar let you switch between Aerial view and Virtual visit modes?---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: Web Viewer keyboard not working The viewer view is the same as the view when you saved the file. So yes, just save your file in aerial view (Ctrl-D) and upload again. Thanks. That should be a useable workaround. PS Det var da et nett lite hus - er det reelt eller en drøm? It is a real project. My wife blogs about it on our new blog huset i Busene. And I would like to say that Sh3d have been a fantastic help, when planning how to get the most out a small house like that. |

Re: Web Viewer keyboard not working It works using mouse, but the keyboard is not functional at all. Did you click in the 3D view first? Doesn't the space bar let you switch between Aerial view and Virtual visit modes?Yes I did click in the app and I am able to pan the view using the mouse in the app view. Likewise I can move around using mouse on the small arrows i the upper left corner. But still after this, the keyboard does nothing, not the spacebar and neither does the arrow keys. Further. I asked my colleague to try it at work today. He is using Windows 7 and newest Oracle Java. He does not even get a view. The app seems to startup well. After accepting the warning popups the cirle spins a little around a cup - and he just gets a blank app vindow. |

Re: Web Viewer keyboard not working What a fantastic project and location. I have sailed past Møns Klint - should have explored the area further. I hope you will develop the model with roof and everything as the project progresses. Your house in SH3D viewer works like charm from here, Win 8, Opera plugin and Java 1.7.0_45-b18. However, download/reading of the 2MB .sh3d file is mysteriously slow (could be the transfer). ok PS Cannot believe it is a file issue, but you could check whether my 762 KB viewer model test file works. |

Re: Web Viewer keyboard not working What a fantastic project and location. I have sailed past Møns Klint - should have explored the area further. It sure is a wonderful spot in Denmark, I highly recommend trekking in the area. I hope you will develop the model with roof and everything as the project progresses. Wont make any promises As you see there is quite a lot of real work to do, before the house gets anywhere near the drawing.Your house in SH3D viewer works like charm from here, Win 8, Opera plugin and Java 1.7.0_45-b18. Thanks. I have tried the viewer on a handfull machines with different opsys/browser/java - and gets mixed results. Mostly (3 out of 4) it seems to work though (with og without keyboard). |

Re: Web Viewer keyboard not working The house works fine under Ubuntu 12.04 using a mouse. Keyboard isn't functional. It's a very nice, functional and interesting layout you chose. However I would make a few minor changes. 1 - Mirror the central part, so the fire place faces the sitting area, not the dining area. 2 - In my country (Netherlands) you wouldn't be allowed to have a toilet with direct access from a living space. Neither would I like to smell the smells when you leave the toilet. The central space is big enough to find a different solution. 3 - Give the little desk a different place, e.g. under the window next to the back door. You get better light and take advantage of the view. Hans ---------------------------------------- Hans new website - under constuction hansdirkse.info |

Re: Web Viewer keyboard not working Good luck with theory and real work. Just wanted to say that it is very nice to see people with interesting projects using the viewer for presentation. ok PS I suggested a feature request for explaining the key/mouse functions in the viewer. Not a big deal, but it might make things easier. |

It's a very nice, functional and interesting layout you chose. However I would make a few minor changes. I am quite puzzled about your comments. Are you sure that you where looking at my project ? I do not have access from the living room to the toilet. |

Re: Web Viewer keyboard not working @MrManor No, sorry, I clicked the linked for okh's house. Guessed so.By the way: What java do you have on your Ubuntu? I wonder if the keyboard problem is related to a specific java. |

Re: Web Viewer keyboard not working I'm using the original Oracle Sun Java, installed from their website. I guess version 7. Alle viewers work with mouse, none with keyboard. SPACE doesn't change to aerial view. ---------------------------------------- Hans new website - under constuction hansdirkse.info |

Re: Web Viewer keyboard not working ...access from the living room to the toilet. And just for the record, neither do I in real life. The sole purpose of the test-house is to try out compact, home-made textures and models (e.g. SVG cut-out for doors/windows/stairs and adding light-sources to models with different colour temperatures) - hence the misaligned panels and nauseating wall-papers. ok |

Re: Web Viewer keyboard not working Alle viewers work with mouse, none with keyboard. SPACE doesn't change to aerial view. Guess there are two conclusions if Java is not consistent from keyboard:1) Maybe a feature request to permit mouse initiated change between aerial view / virtual visit (? + or bug report?) 2) Always save models intended for viewer with the preferred view, just in case. ok |

Re: Web Viewer keyboard not working I just tried the viewer and you're right, the keyboard doesn't work under Ubuntu 12.04 with Firefox (but it works under Windows 7/8 and Mac OS X). ![]() It seems like the applet is unable to gain the keyboard focus, because no colored border appears around the 3D view when you click in it or press the tab key. Similarly, the online version is able to gain the focus only when you click in the catalog?!? Can anybody try with some other browser under Linux? I suggested a feature request for explaining the key/mouse functions in the viewer The HTML file proposed with the viewer contains the minimum script able to run the viewer. In the real world, like you did in your nice example, this script should be inserted in a web page with some web site navigation, copyright notices and/or why not a minimal user guide that could cite some information from the help. Anyway, thanks for posting the request and the ideas you gave. ![]() By the way, the coming version will fix an other bug I found in the viewer that prevented to use the the home and end keys to move up or down the visitor's point of view. ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: Web Viewer keyboard not working Emmanuel, I'm happy to test under Ubuntu & Firefox, but I'm not sure what exactly I should test. I can't test under Chrome, for some reason I can't install it. Hans ---------------------------------------- Hans new website - under constuction hansdirkse.info |

Re: Web Viewer keyboard not working Hans, just click in the 3D view and try to move the user point of view with arrows of the keyboard. If one key will work, all of them should work. ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |
