Fill holes in the 3D model using Blender
Hi,

I am newbie in 3D modelling. I have 3D model of a superman that has some holes on the cloak (please, see this image). I use Blender to improve the model. When I apply the modifier Solidify, the whole model is affected (i.e. the thickness of the whole model is changed).
So, is there any quick way to fix this issue? Maybe some detailed tutorial...

Thanks.

That must be some normals that are incorrectly oriented. Do you see the holes filled on the opposite side when you turn superman?
If it's such an issue, you should either invert the normals in Blender, or import twice the model at the same location requesting at the second step of the wizard to reverse the normals.

Yes, I see the holes when I turn superman.
Could you please explain how to invert normals in this case? I appreciate very much a link to a step-by-step tutorial.
Thanks.

Inverting normals isn't so easy, and you should probably ask in a forum about Blender.

Some times inverted normals are rendering in High quality(Q4) mode.Try it in high quality rendering.
Or find a file format converting application that some applications ignore file nirmals while converting.Use it as an intermediate between blender and sweethome 3d. shhh
