2D slow and choppy. Hey. I just came across this program, and am trying it. So far it seems great in respect to features and models. However, I have run into the problem, that the 2D window (the top down view of the layout) is very slow. Now, when I add a model of lets say a washing machine by dragging it to the 2D window, dragging it around there is so painfully slow and choppy that I am about to give up. It seems like it got slower gradually as I drew the plan of the base floor of the house, particularly as I started to add doors and closets etc. Is this just the way the program will behave with a large floor plan, or am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to improve the performance of the 2D window?? Mind you, the 3D window works just fine - very snappy. Regards Anders |

Re: 2D slow and choppy. What kind of computer are you using? Fast or slow? What operating system on your computer? How much memory for SH3D? Which version of SH3D? What is the size of your SH3D file? Did you use imported models, or only models that come with the program? Many unknown factors. So it's hard to say what is happening.... Re: 2D slow and choppy. It's a laptop - lenovo sl510 with a ati radeon graph.card. (as stated - the 3d works fine) Running windows 7. It's got 4gb of memory,so I don't think that's the problem. (again, than I think the 3d window would also be slow). I'm using the latest version of SH3D So far I've only used models that came with the program. |

Re: 2D slow and choppy. Did you import a background image with a lot of pixels? This could kill the program for very little benefit. ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |
