Importing a Background image problem I am having an issue opening a background image in the online version of Sweet Home 3D. I tried opening the contextual menu to load a background image and the dialog box to choose an image opens up. If I then browse my hard drive, no files show up even though there is a jpeg on my desktop. If I try and drag the jpeg into the box as per the instructions I get a message (Java message it seems) saying <couldnt read the file “/Users/Gad/Desktop/Plans 604.jpg. Any ideas why this is not working? My file is under 100Kb so I dont think it is a size issue. |

Re: Importing a Background image problem It's a strange issue that seams to happen only in Safari under recent Mac OS X versions. I just tried again with Firefox and Google Chrome where there was no problem. It would be nice to report this issue to Apple if you find a little time to do it. ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: Importing a Background image problem I can try reporting it but not sure where I would report it to them so that it has an impact. But I suppose it is probably related to Java running under the latest MAC OX X versions on Safari. Not sure they would take this report too seriously anyway about cannot open a file using java for a CAD type program. But i can try. you never know. |

Re: Importing a Background image problem As it's an error that happens only in Safari, I suspect an issue in Safari so Apple would have to fix it. I'll report it on my side too. ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: Importing a Background image problem Actually it's an additional security setting available in Safari: If you want to import/export files from/to your computer under Safari, you should open Safari Preferences, select Security > Website Settings for Internet Plugins > Java and choose Unsafe mode for www.sweethome3d.com web site. It looks like Apple just wants to kill Java applets technology. Fortunately, they are not #1 and Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome didn't go so far! Thanks to Joshua Smith for his suggestion. ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |
