SH3D portable - Videos are created but storing results in 0 byte files Hi guys, I am using SH3D on my home PC with a standard installation, everything works fine. I have access to a more powerfull PC which I than use for rendering. The problem is: - I'm opening 3H3D portable as admin (64bit, stored on the HDD of the powerfull PC) I am not allowed to install SH3D on this PC - Opening my saved files from home PC -> works - Creating videos works, but when I want to save them 0byte mov files are generated, regardless where I put them I have local admin rights on this PC and I also start SH3D as admin. I also have write/read priviliges on the HDD drive. Has anyone of you ever experiences that? What was the solution? My best regards Alex |

Re: SH3D portable - Videos are created but storing results in 0 byte files Hello again, can nobody help me? Images are saved correctly by the way, but that is not what I need from the portable version. Maybe somebody can tell me where the temporary files for the video creation are stored for the portable version. Maybe it is a different one and I need to give special right to this folder. Thank you for your help and my best regards Alex |

Re: SH3D portable - Videos are created but storing results in 0 byte files Does the video creation seem to last at a few minutes, or does the Save button become activated quite quickly? ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: SH3D portable - Videos are created but storing results in 0 byte files After clicking on start he computes the frames (e.g 70/131) and the second he reaches the final frame (131/131) the save button is activated immediately |

Re: SH3D portable - Videos are created but storing results in 0 byte files The computed video is stored in a subfolder of C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\eTeks\Sweet Home 3D\work Could you check if the size of the mov file in that folder is 0 or not, before you click on Save button? ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: SH3D portable - Videos are created but storing results in 0 byte files Hm ok, this folder is not created. There is no eTeks folder in the Roaming folder. Seems like the system is blocking the application from creating this folder, right? But I used right-click and start as administrator Too bad... |

Re: SH3D portable - Videos are created but storing results in 0 byte files It's quite strange because if the work folder couldn't be created, I think that the video creation process would abort much earlier. Maybe, try to set the com.eteks.sweethome3d.applicationFolders Java system property equal to a folder where you're sure you can write, for example by writing: -Dcom.eteks.sweethome3d.applicationFolders=C:\Windows\Temp---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: SH3D portable - Videos are created but storing results in 0 byte files Sorry for my late reply, but I was on Holiday :-) I did as you recommended, but it's still not working. And when I open the temp folder (I used one on my secondary HDD D:\temp where I definetly ) there is no file created. And after SH3D finished Rendering saving the file still leads to 0byte files :-( I saved the SweetHome3D.l4j.ini file with this line -Dcom.eteks.sweethome3d.applicationFolders=D:\temp Oh man, this is really a pity... |
