Is it possible to use Sweet Home 3d to build a school?Or should I just go back to blender or sketchup? i like this program so far but it's so tiny...I'm trying to export this into blender as an obj file...I suppose I could enlarge it in there but anyway is it possible to build a full size school, one that a character could walk around in? Or is this just so you can get an idea of what you're going to build I've seen some of the gallery and and I'm really impressed by what people have created in this free program. But I have yet to see a school only houses. Thanks if you respond ![]() |

Re: Is it possible to use Sweet Home 3d to build a school? Not sure what you mean by tiny. That is just a question of scale used for drawing, or? But exporting to OBJ may be confusing when imported to other software. If I understand correctly, OBJ does not contain information about size or unit. Just the relative positions in the geometry. And if so, the software you use to import may interpret a model much smaller than the original SH3D file. SH3D may not have been designed primarily for large building construction. But there is nothing in the software to prevent you from drawing a big building, such as a school. IMHO it will - for most users - be much easier designing a school with SH3D than with Blender or Sketchup. BTW you may want to have a look at Sunlight simulation in a classroom. ok |

Re: Is it possible to use Sweet Home 3d to build a school? To the best of my somewhat limited knowledge and experience with SH3D; the only limit to building a big school would be your computer's hardware. ---------------------------------------- Hawk |

Re: Is it possible to use Sweet Home 3d to build a school? If I want to draw or design a building, I use a simple method of closing my eyes and vizualise what I want to see. I then do a freehand line-drawing, doing most of my changes then. Then I use sweethome3d. The program has most, if not all the available tools to draw you the school design you want. If you struggle, there are hundreds of us with some advice. happy drawing! Leonard aka Juggernaut (newbie) |
