@okh: yes that is exactly what I mean :) And the tiles are much better now! Indeed the tiles may not properly align when connecting several roof elements together, but by carefully sizing them results may be pretty good (the same problem happens with split walls)

@Hawk: yes, tanks for pointing that out again. I did read them in the past. But these methods do not easily allow to create elements as the picture in okh's post just above...

Good. The interesting thing when trying to compile a collection of roofs, staircases or windows for that matter, is that even if you start out with a perfectly simple idea, you end up realising that there are so many different variables in design, texturing and elements, that it is almost impossible to make elegant designs that are sufficiently generic to fit many uses. Hence the sacrifice of elegance. But glad that the simple roofs sometimes can be useful.

Yes, which is why the best solution sometimes is to edit the texture. ok
