cousin's house
Here I open new series of the house of my cousin. Interesting for me is that it is not only fantasy project but real project for real place. My cousin requests me to create real project /exterior and interior/ for the place where she have an old house for demolition. Windows can be only on one side of the house because on the opposite side is the neighbor's estate. She choose colors and materials she loves and I try to create something what she will love. So here is the process. At first I start to create the base of first floor. On the right side will be garage in the center will be dressing room and small bathroom and on the left side will be "open space"-living room combined with dining place and kitchen. The length of the house is 21 meters the width is 6 meters.
And the second floor process is here...on the left side will be terrace turned to the garden, main bedroom main bathroom and guest room
Very important for my cousin is to have roof with open framework
I was working on that and here I have the first exterior design of the house
The next step for me was an interior. I finished the heart of the house now. It's kitchen with dining place and living room
And now....I am happy that I can share the very first image of this interior
so hope that some of you will like it.....to be continued soon

Hi,

We have Lucky cousins. laughing

Not bad at all ! applause

I would rather reverse the kitchen with the living room with that location because I would have made a great opening to the garden as for the 2nd level (kitchen will be near hall and garage (perhaps laundry, it will be my choice)... smile

And I repeat : Not bad at all ! applause

I know what you mean... but it's not possible to made opening on that place because of the "topographic" situation and neighbor's situation on that space /which is hard to explain for me/. But it's an old -style parcel where neighbors lives in the same parcel very close to each other. And I can't made an opening on the first floor because neighbor's garage is there. The garden is farther away. I know it is hard to understand for you but it is normal situation in some old style parcels here. Do believe in me that this is the best room allocation for that space. You will understand it later may be. I wanna try to made some more detailed exterior pictures.

So here I have a new picture... I changed sofa and textile compare to the first interior picture. But this one is real rendering record holder for me.... Due to the homemade curtains and complicated carpet it takes 10 hours 32 minutes.

A question : what is the white point on bottom of the picture ?
Refection of a led from the ceiling...

I hate the basin here... but it was my fault. I made mistake with materials cool

And glass again...if she loves....she has laughing

Re: cousin's house
So my friends ... I know you forget but here is the time to continue the next part of my older project- cousin's house. I finished the first room on the floor and it is the main bedroom with the very short garden panorama and terrace.

Here I started to experiment with SILK shininess shader on rendering which gives more shining alternatives but more rendering troubles at the same time. The same problem was that I missed GLOSSY style of floor due to silk setting. And here is the result. I create GLOSSY style floor effect thanx to glass-like filter. It is not genial but it is an alternative how to maintain this glossy effect for some objects. And I experimented with rendering settings. Here it is...
AAmin...2
AAmax...2
GI......default
DB......0 /I see most people here recommends 1 but when I started to use 0, shadows become more contrast of-course but it gives more plastic interior feeling to me... Sure it is only about personal preferences./
CAUSTCS..0 /at day scenes/
SHINES...silk
Focus Distance....250
Fous Radius.......1
FILTER...blackman-harris
SAMPLER ALGORYTHM...bucket
here are results pic1

pic2

size of pics is 1500x1000 pixels and rendering time was 3 hours /pic1/ and 5 hours /pic2/
oh...and here I have another problem. I experimented with GI-path. It was interesting but my comp started to compute only black pictures for this setting abruptly and I don't know why. I changed DB numbers, restarted my comp, tried everything...but still nothing....only black. Any ideas?

I have not the direct link yet...but it was on this site

You have to downloaded collada file on each model if you want to use it in sweethome3d... Or I sometimes download sketchup files for re-edit some models. Not sure but I think I sent you personal message week ago...
Hope you enjoy

Re: cousin's house
What is the soft used for re-edit ?

Excuse me bdfd 're-edit' was very bad word choice of me. /that's my not perfect English/
I had to say correct. It's better.
For example. Grass model in 'for two persons gallery'....it was very tough manipulation for my comp when I imported whole model in collada file from warehouse. So I imported it into sketchup. Simplified it there /because model contains of 4 same parts... I deleted 3 of them/. Then exported into KMZ format and then imported into sh3d. Manipulation runs perfect.
Or I correct or change textures there if possible sometimes. Because it is able to apply glass texture for lot's of models for example. /and many more of-course/
Or if I downloaded models from CGtrader I had troubles with models in OBJ,KMZ,3DS formats. /lost textures. very simplified model or lost model parts etc./ The best choice for me is downloaded it into sketchup. It shows that every models are correct there. I can make some changes in sketchup and reexported it into collada or KMZ format in form I like....
Sure...there are IT experts here laughing on me when reads this article. But I don't know other way to make it better....

Re: cousin's house
No problem, my english is good with help of 'Google translation'. smile

We do same thing but with different soft.
I use Unwrap3D or Anim8or and you sketchup, OK.
Like you sometimes it's not possible or perfect...

Re: cousin's house
Thank you enkonyito.
At first.. great pictures on your sites.. love struck
And about rendering properties..hmmm...My problem with GI-path is, that my settings are OK....but I still have black pictures only in this project. Still don't know why. Have the same settings in other projects and GI-path runs normal. sad
Problem is /maybe/ that I have very simple graphic cards in my comp laughing .... intel CORE i3 and NVIDIA GEFORCE 930M.....
It looks it's a kind of magic that I am able to produce any renderings laughing

Re: cousin's house
I did not encounter this kind of problem. sad
I first testing a project with gI-path and dB-0 to see if the difference with gI-path and dB-1 worth it. (do not forget the sky without texture and minimal exterior or interior lighting)

Thanx for your help enkonyito. I checked all my settings. GI-path in this project still black. Doesn't matter if I have sky with or without texture. Doesn't matter if I have lights or not... Hmm... Private life of IT is big secret. laughing laughing
Don't care. Sometimes not everything runs perfect...
So... I made two pictures of my cousin's house main bathroom with GI-default..
DB-0
AA min 2
AA max 3

It's not a big secret or big know-how....
AA min...2
AA max...3
GI...default
DB...0
Caustics...0
shinessShader...silk
NLFD...250
NLR...1
filter...blackman-harris
algorythm...bucket

If you wanna know other parameters just ask...

original picture size 1500x1000 px

I tried to exported some sh3d models to Kerkythea free renderer.. Settings there are huge. But it was too much for my graphic cards laughing ... So thanks to sh3d for this free rendering. I read in some review that sh3d have not good rendering. I can only say it's not true. It's cool for amateurs. You can make very nice pictures here too. Maybe not pure photorealistic /but I am sure it is possible but not by my skills and comp/... It's very simple and very well-arranged....
