How to create furniture with individually editable materials/textures/colors?
I am able to create a new furniture via the "copy as new furniture" option and importing it afterwards. However, I can't seem to figure out how to make every part of it individually texturable (assign different material/color) like with e.g. the cylinder object where I can edit the top-, bottom- and cylinder-color individually. I tried it with grouping, but that didn't solve it.

Which parts of a model can be assigned separate colours/textures, depends on the models. In other words, it needs to have surfaces with assigned names (like the cylinder). Also How a texture will stretch and tile on a surface can also be determined by the model itself. ok

Would you mind to explain what you mean on an example to tell me "how to do it" which is what I asked for?

Re: How to create furniture with individually editable materials/textures/colors?
I would if I could understand how you create your models.

If I were to assume that you create furniture using walls etc in SH3D before you copy-as-new / export-import - you must assign colours/textures to the original walls before exporting-importing. If you do, the different colours/textures will be saved with the model, and show up as wall-1-1 etc in the modify furniture dialogue. Other pieces of furniture will retain their original surface names (like the cylinder).

But I am making assumptions, and this may not be very helpful...

ok

Ah, I see. You assumed correctly. So far I misuse walls to create furniture and then copy as new furniture since I am not able to use 3D modeling tools like Blender, 3DS Max or Maya.

I'll try what you suggested.
