Re: Testing IBL-levels
@MartinSK

As far as I know the Sunflow renderer is using only the CPU, so your graphics card has no influence on the rendering time.

I normally use a 2015 Mac Pro with two graphics cards and 2.7GHz 12-core Intel Xeon E5 processor, but for these tests I used an 2013 iMac with I5, which is a middle-of-the-road-performing home computer. Your Lenovo Y700 should normally perform a lot faster.

Re: Testing IBL-levels
Hi Cec...
I have a question...
You said that sunflow renderer use only CPU... But if I compare the rendering times when I open sh3d by NVIDIA GPU graphic card,the rendering runs at about 5-10% faster... Have you some explanation? confused I am not an IT specialist so I don't know how it is possible...
And yes...with intel core i7 the renderer runs really fast...but I increased demands for the rendering compare my previous intel core i3... So 5 or 10% means a lot when the rendering runs 15 or 20 hours. confused
And the next advancement when I open sh3d by NVIDIA is that textures and colors on 3D view looks much better...antialiasing on 3D view looks much better and the movement of visitor in project runs much better and more smooth compare to standard integrated graphic of the computer. I had the same experience by my previous ASUS 555L with intel core i3 and NVIDIA GEFORCE 930M
Thanks for your answer.

Well, I'm no IT-expert myself - far from it - but to the best of my knowledge I would assume you should get a lot more than 5 - 10% increase if the GPU was used.
The difference between Sunflow and f.i. Firefly (a GPU-Based renderer for Poser Pro), is like night and day. Firefly renders in minutes an image that will take Sunflow hours to complete.

Thank you for answer..
Yes I know that 10% is not much....but the difference is still there... I still try to learn something new about graphic and rendering... But sometimes it looks that IT have their own personal life and nobody knows what that life is about.
Thank you for your posts and creations here.
