any idea how to draw 3D-pipes? Hi, i usually work with CAD software like Bricscad, Draftsight aso. but last week i tried Sweet Home 3D for several things. It's a great piece of software, thanks, at first. Placing, moving, rendering, really simple. But i saw, that there are no drawing functions like 3D-pipe or something else. There is a polyline function, but only 2D if i saw that right. Does anybody know how i could realize drawing some simple 3D-pipes like electric circuits or sanitary pipes? Do i have to import OBJ for this or are there any other ways? Thanks for your help. |

Re: any idea how to draw 3D-pipes? As you say, there is no electricity/plumbing function. If you search the forum, e.g. for plumbing, you should find some suggestions on how different users have drawn what they need. Using cylinders being one way. Note that the current beta version with three-axis object rotation, makes it easier. ok |

Re: any idea how to draw 3D-pipes? Draw 2 walls same length ,enter wall properties (Modify walls) and arc extent them 180 and other wall -180 . adjust wall thickness and hight if needed . next line up walls to a circle, I use cursor keys And Export them to .OBJ format in 3D view ""make map; pipeline"" and put your creation in there. Next Import your new pipe in furniture Tip, if u need a pipe say 10 cm diameter make it in drawing 1 meter , later u can adjust his size ,same goose for length Some Examples .. Plummbing Electrical_installation_material ---------------------------------------- To Draw or not to Draw ...... Thats nolonger a question .. We draw |

Re: any idea how to draw 3D-pipes? Hi there! I am unable to position a (furniture) cylinder based pipe through a wall? Do I need to apply a special setting to allow these objects to penetrate a wall or to be inside a wall? Thanks! |

Re: any idea how to draw 3D-pipes? You may also rotate objects (including the cylinder) since version 5.5. This may be helpful to quickly draw pipes. ---------------------------------------- Emmanuel Puybaret, Sweet Home 3D creator |

Re: any idea how to draw 3D-pipes? Is there a way with this pipe / plumbing library to make a pipe with slope. One end 8 feet, the other end 7 feet? In the USA we slope drain pipes at 1/4 inch per 12 inches or 1:48. |
