My first hand on SH3D. Planning a new home. Please Advise. Friends, i'm new to SH3D world or even to anything related to this. I live in India and I'm planning to build my house. I initially started out with different softwares as i wanted to design my home. but when i found this beauty called SH3D, i simply loved it and started using it. Now here is what i have done so far. My plot area n all I have shown in this SH3D file. My requirement is 3 Bed in total. 1 On GF ,2 on FF. Kitchen, Living and parking space. I tried this design so far. I need suggestions and alterations from you guys who r experts with it. Help me with suggestions. As i m no structural engineer i m surely going to visit architect too. but I need to have few designs before i go n meet him. Hope i m not violating any Terms n Conditions of the forum. Thanks in advance. Regards,.. Darshiit |

Re: My first hand on SH3D. Planning a new home. Please Advise.Hello and welcome, Your project is interesting. There are surely constraints related to your country. Here are some remarks: 1. The toilets outside, why? How do you do in bad weather? 2. I did not see the bathroom. 3. I do not see how the big balcony will fit. You can not put a beam in the middle of the parking! 4. No window in "main bed". no window in "bed small". 5. How will your roof be? 6. How will you heat your house? 7. What does OTS mean? Re: My first hand on SH3D. Planning a new home. Please Advise. Hello and welcome, Thanks brother for heads up. Your project is interesting. There are surely constraints related to your country. Here are some remarks: 1. The toilets outside, why? How do you do in bad weather? One of the toilet placed outside a friend suggested it. But thats not an issue at all. It can be placed anywhere on the Ground Floor. 2. I did not see the bathroom. On GroundFloor I m trying to place it under the stairs area. On first floor I'm still wondering what shall be the best place for having attached toilet & bath with enough structural strength. 3. I do not see how the big balcony will fit. You can not put a beam in the middle of the parking! 4. No window in "main bed". no window in "bed small". 5. How will your roof be? 6. How will you heat your house? 7. What does OTS mean? Regards, bdfd. ![]() Let me tell you some facts about weather and materials i m going to use. Weather is quite habitate over here. Not so many challenges. Temprature is about 21-35 degree celc. whole year. Which includes winter about 18-23 degrees and also heaty summer about 35-39 degrees. Rainy season here lasts about 4 months and it rains moderately here. Wind breeze is from West Side ( thats why i opted this land). Material for wall would be a 9" thick stone. Roof I will make of concrete, Almost flat ( Will give some minor slop towards the sides as it will help keep rain water to flush away. ) Brother, My basic idea was just only to put plot size and ask for advise. But I thought it would be rude just ask for help without doing anything on a project. If you wish, you can remove all the elements , all the walls and start fresh. I already mentioned my requirements. But again here it is. We are family of three. Me , my wife and a kid (5 yrs boy). We would be more then happy to have just 2 Bed , hall and kitchen all n all. But family and friends suggested one small bed room on the Ground floor. Yes, I do need balcony, where I can put a Swing bed (small one) facing west. I need main enterence on Ground floor facing West. Kitchen on South-East. Thats it. so all n all , 3 bed , hall kitchen with a parking ( I need 10' x 15' for my current car.) Oh forgot to mention OTS is for Open space for vents and air circulation. Hope this helps. Thanks again... Regards,.. Darshiit |

Re: My first hand on SH3D. Planning a new home. Please Advise. OK. One of the toilet placed outside a friend suggested it. But thats not an issue at all. It can be placed anywhere on the Ground Floor. it's better to have them inside but it's not mandatory ...On GroundFloor I m trying to place it under the stairs area. On first floor I'm still wondering what shall be the best place for having attached toilet & bath with enough structural strength. Not easy, it depends if you want a bath or a shower? do not forget to add a window to the outside (in height) for the aeration and the light. Let me tell you some facts about weather and materials i m going to use. OK, can you send us the plan of this land (without your name of course); the location of the house is also important.Weather is quite habitate over here. [moderated] Roof I will make of concrete, Almost flat ( Will give some minor slop towards the sides as it will help keep rain water to flush away. ) OK, it's a good idea and rain is free.Brother, My basic idea was just only to put plot size and ask for advise. But I thought it would be rude just ask for help without doing anything on a project. No but it's an idea to update your project. If you wish, you can remove all the elements , all the walls and start fresh. I already mentioned my requirements. But again here it is. We are family of three. Me , my wife and a kid (5 yrs boy). Good idea for old days.We would be more then happy to have just 2 Bed , hall and kitchen all n all. But family and friends suggested one small bed room on the Ground floor. Yes, I do need balcony, where I can put a Swing bed (small one) facing west. Becareful for the general structure.A question, the north is good in your sh3d file ? I need main enterence on Ground floor facing West. Kitchen on South-East. It's ok for me, I don't see problems.Thats it. so all n all , 3 bed , hall kitchen with a parking ( I need 10' x 15' for my current car.) OK.Oh forgot to mention OTS is for Open space for vents and air circulation. OK, in the European houses a 'VMC' (an electric box) is installed connected to each room with flexible hoses for the ventilation (Controlled Mechanical Ventilation)=> search information about it. Looking forward to seeing the continuation of the plan with the updates. Good luck. bdfd ![]() ---------------------------------------- Evil progresses when good people do nothing! --- SH3D 7.1 and nothing else - W11 64b in 4K |

Re: My first hand on SH3D. Planning a new home. Please Advise. Thanks again bro,. Here r the dimensions of the plot. East : 9.10 meter West : 9.51 meter ( Open side ) North : 8.00 meter South : 10.74 meter ( Road Side ) East n North sides have other people's home. South side have a road side approx 8 mtrs. West side is open and will remain open forever as there will be no buildings ever upto the road on that side. My city gets fresh breeze air from West side , Sea shore is 25 kms away from my location on west. And yes , North is correct on that plan. Thats what is there approximately on the plan I shared here. Remove internal walls and u will find it. Or here it is the plain one. I will try improve earlier plan and share. But anyone with any possible designs can help here. thanks again. Regards,.. Re: My first hand on SH3D. Planning a new home. Please Advise. Well. Here is little updates and an idea for the biggest balcony. ![]() a) blue arrow, a beam (in red: 0.20 x 0.20 x 3.40 m reinforced concrete) to support the large balcony. height of the toilet wall at 2.6 m b) red '?' : what is the future function of this room? c) green arrows: I add 2 windows what do you think ? ![]() ---------------------------------------- Evil progresses when good people do nothing! --- SH3D 7.1 and nothing else - W11 64b in 4K |

Re: My first hand on SH3D. Planning a new home. Please Advise. That RED room, will remain as it is, and will build another stair there to access the roof. (level 2 ). Roof will be utilized for Solar panels for electricity and Solar water heater and rest space will remain free. I got this so far, but my problem is where do i place toilets in first floor ? so that structure remains intact. I will share a few different plans i did. Please have a look. Now if u can suggest, where shall i put Columns n Beams ? If required plz do changes. Thanks again |
