Import Furniture
Hi there,
I am trying to import a furniture.
After import a sizes are displayed differently than original sizes.
Even when I type in sweethome: width, depth, height etc-an object is still different.
Any ideas, what should I do?
Cheers

Re: Import Furniture
What do you mean by original size? In which format is your imported model?

Re: Import Furniture
The model has been imported in .obj format.
When I put it into Import Furniture and original size is 600mmx600mmx880mm, then Furniture Import Wizard depth width height are totally different. When I retype it, then model becomes different.
On the plan it shows a bigger rectangle and the model (inside of the rectangle) very small etc.

Re: Import Furniture
How did you obtain this OBJ file? Would it be possible that you share it?

Re: Import Furniture
You included in your model a small additional part far away from the main object. Removing it should help you obtain a correct model.
You could have guessed it because the 3D model isn't centered when you import it in Sweet Home 3D furniture import wizard.

Re: Import Furniture
Hi Emmanuel,
Another thing, which I can not sort out in Sweethome.
The object's front door has got a different colour and after Import Furniture there is still a grey colour, but it should be coloured. What Am I doing wrong during importing furniture in Sweethome?
I have sent you an object via email.
Thanks a lot for your help.

Re: Import Furniture
Colours are exported in the separated MTL file. When you import an OBJ file, you should generally keep the MTL file in the same folder (or the same ZIP file).

Re: Import Furniture
Hi, I've downloaded a model .obj but i can't import it in my sweet home 3d. I've a Mac, maybe is it a problem?
I've downloaded it from a web site and in every folder there is the object and other files.
How can I import correctly the object?
Thank you

Re: Import Furniture
If you use the Mac App Store version, you should import 3D models in zip archives.
For more information, please read the FAQ How can I import 3D models in OBJ, DAE or 3DS format with the Mac App Store version of Sweet Home 3D?

Hi! I have a ZIP file with a list of files inside as: 3ds, dae, obj, mtl and texture folders)
Importing this ZIP, the pouf inside remains white. Any suggest?
Thanks

Re: Import Furniture
DAE and 3DS files contain colors, at the opposite of OBJ files which colors are described in their accompanying MTL file (and sometime not well described). I would extract the DAE file ans try to import it.

Re: Import Furniture
I tried to import the .dae file only (after zipping it) but the pouf remains white ...
Inside this zip file there are 3 folders called: LODs, render, textures ... should I have to import these folders somehow?
