Installation QuestionI install Sweethome3D on my ubuntu 16.04 by running a Terminal command sudo apt install sweethome3d It install the application without any issues but OLD version Version 4.5 Java version 1.8.0_162 / 64 bit / 1.7 GB ma I can search and find it and Run it. I downloaded the latest version SweetHome3D-5.7-linux-x64.tgz. I extracted the file which created a Folder SweetHome3D-5.7. There are 2 shell script inside the extracted folder. 1) SweetHome3d and SweetHome3D-Java3D-1_5_2. I can run the application with bash but i am not sure is this the correct way. I do not know how do Install it or Upgrade on top of old version. |

Re: Installation Question The shell script are executable. Double click on one of them and answer execute when prompted. The version offered in repository usually don't run correctly especially with jre9 or jre-10. You can edit the application menu to lunch from there and associate the .sh3d file ONLY with this great application. The version from repository You can remove completely and I strongly recommend to do this.
