Re: Proposal for solving problem with door and window thickness

Emanuale,

I did think about that, as my proposal was that these attributes be the automatic behaviour - nothing to prevent manual override.

I also suggested width and height overrides

I realise that currently the furniture objects are not composite objects. But it should be a relatively simple ...

Proposal for solving problem with door and window thickness

This is related to the "problem" of the "open door" extending far too far into the room because the door itself is automatically expanded in "thickness" when the frame is "snapped" to the wall.

This exact problem also happens with regular doors, you should see what a door installed into a 3ft thick ...

Re: Splitting walls and joining them?

OK, here's a picture:

http://www.perdrix.co.uk/pix/SweetHome3D-Walls-problem.jpg

The first one shows what I get if I split a wall and reduce the thickness of a section.

The second is what I want to achieve (but the walls just overlap, they aren't joined).

The third is the horrid thing that ...

Re: Want to create an arch model

I just downloaded the arch, but found it will not make a hole in a wall, unlike (e.g.) a door-frame.

How can I make it cut an opening please?

Re: Splitting walls and joining them?

I generally end wall drawing with a click on the Select arrow which I understand to be the same as a double-click. In any case doing this doesn't join the new wall I am drawing to the wall I am trying to connect to. It generally leaves a very small gap, or the new wall finishes part way through the ...

Splitting walls and joining them?

If I split a wall, and adjust the thickness of one section to be thinner than the other, then the join is in the middle of the thicker wall, with the result that there is a step on the inside and outside.

1) How to adjust the connection point to so that there is only a single step on a chosen side ...

Make 3D window so it is a "fully fledged window"

Currently (V4.1) when you detach the 3D view as a separate window, it would appear to handled such that it is always in front of the main window and you can't interact with the main window while it is open.

Aside: Probably something to do with window parent/child relationship and window ownership ...

Delete imported models

I imported a few models that I decided I don't like or didn't work.

How can I delete them please, there doesn't seem to be any way to do this?

Thanks
Dave
