Hi Mark,
A few months ago I added this feature into Renovations 3D so you can now import any .obj file that you've downloaded from the internet.
Please see this video for how to , start from the catalog view; Menu->Import furniture....
Thanks,
Phil.

Re: Editing a group of vertices
Skunk,
I've also noticed this particular feature would be nice.
I like the fact you've got into the code and actually understood why it is as it is now, put forward some good ideas and suggested you're willing to do the work to create a plugin, nice one.

Re: RENOVATIONS 3D
Hi there,
Unfortunately the import furniture feature of Sweet Home 3D is a bit complex and advanced so it hasn't been ported to Renovation 3D, and I'm not expecting to be able to at any time soon.
So your options are to either:

Re: Poor performance on desktop application 3D View compared to HTML5 viewer.
I'm still waiting for anyone with the issue to assist in debugging it by running the 2 command line steps I mentioned above. If we can reliable say that it's the Intel driver on windows 10 bug (and many people have suggested configurations that don't match this) then I can look into a solution.

Re: Poor performance on desktop application 3D View compared to HTML5 viewer.
Emmanuel,
It feels like this is another poor graphics driver update bundled with windows 10.
I wonder if you could ask everyone who's had this issue to try with webstart, as that uses a different exe from normal java

Re: Renovations 3D for Android
Hi,
I thought I'd mention that Create Photo is now in the latest version of Renovations 3D.
It produces excellent images, obviously just as Sweet Home 3D does.
Referring to my earlier comment:
.. wonder if render to photo might be very slow on android.

Re: Renovations 3D for Android
I see that bluetooth laser measures aren't too expensive, so that route might in fact be easier to build than the tap the wall version. Perhaps once Renovations 3D has a reasonable install base I'll buy one and see what the interfaces are like, thanks for the idea.

Re: Port SH3D to Android
I know this thread is more about converting file types and viewing them but I thought I should add that I've written a new Android app named Renovations 3D , based on Sweet Home 3D, and it was released some time ago, as Emmanuel explained in this article . Maybe you could try that and see if it ...

Re: Renovations 3D for Android
Ok, thanks for the comments.
It’s a pity I had to change the interface so far from the desktop version, it reduces the ease of use having to slide around and press buttons. I’m certainly hoping one day I can get 2D and 3D on a split view, for bigger tablets and TV’s.
