Re: A *MOVED* installation cannot find my old furniture library

Isn't Sweet Home 3D too slow at launch? Just tested--it's under 4 seconds, even with all that luggage. I'm hoping that speed will also be apparent when rendering images.
The 14K files came as a surprise to me, as well; I knew I had a lot, but not THAT many. I'm currently archiving everything, one ...

Re: A *MOVED* installation cannot find my old furniture library

The content of the eTeks/Sweet Home 3D is portable from a computer to another one and across different operating systems. The difference from a system to another is the name of this folder and where it should be found:
- under Windows Vista / 7 / 8 / 10, this folder is C:\Users\ user \AppData ...

A *MOVED* installation cannot find my old furniture library

Long story short: My computer had a hardware issue that meant my old hard drive (on which Sweet Home was installed) had to be moved from the C: drive [master] to the D: drive [slave].

All of my files were copied to the new C: drive. The entire Sweet Home directory was copied to the exact same ...

Re: Building on our owned block

You might specifically want a 1-story home, but making it 2-story would halve your footprint & give you a bigger yard, as well as retain heat more efficiently.
Busy areas like hallways, staircases, & entrances should be close to the center of the house, to minimize traffic flow. Move that Entry ...

Re: The Stroppy Ox

The other solution uses a round light as in this tutorial .
From the tutorial: "You could expect that the sunlight would be enough to light the scene, but when a picture is computed at a point of view placed in a house, sunlight actually doesn't produce that much light in Sweet Home 3D,"
Yeah, I ...

Re: The Stroppy Ox

I love the chiaroscuro (semi-darkness) atmosphere of candlelight! [:)]
To simulate indoor daylight, you can use light spheres or light panels.
Thanks! I found that the visual contrast provided by dim lighting made the place look more realistic and 3-dimensional, as well as warmer, which is ...

Re: The Stroppy Ox

Cool, I'm looking forward to it! Especially on the antique liquid soap... [:p]
Yes, unfortunately there are a few glaring anachronisms, such as the electric clothes iron, Cook's mechanical pencil, the modern basketball & soccer ball for dog toys, etc. I did "construct" as much period-accurate (or ...

Re: The Stroppy Ox

Hey, thanks, guys! I put a lot of work into it, and it's good to get some recognition.
Only one question: when can I check in?
At any point in the 12th through 16th centuries. [:D]

Re: The Stroppy Ox

There isn't much to say about the roof levels, but I'm trying to be comprehensive.

The top of the stairs opens out at the brown trapdoor just north of the clothesline.

The roof has a very shallow slope, but even so it's prudent to ...
