The patterned chairs have the image stretched down the sides, I am not sure how to stop this.

Sorry, you can't do better with Sweet Home 3D at this time. Wrapping correctly your texture on each side of the piece requires to edit that piece with a separate 3D application like Blender or Art of Illusion.
